Our Story
It all started with an idea: to transform sustainable by-products—spent beer grain—into wholesome, science-backed treats dogs love. We wanted treats made from ingredients we could pronounce and feel good about feeding our own pups, Katja and Kahlua, rather than products filled with unnecessary salt, sugar, and preservatives.
As we learned more about canine nutrition, science guided our expansion. Dogs are biologically designed to thrive on nutrient-dense animal ingredients, not just fillers. Organ meats—often referred to as nature’s multivitamins—contain concentrated levels of essential nutrients. Our organ meat jerkies capture these nutrients in a simple, protein-rich format. By drying and preserving nutrient-dense organs into jerky, we offer dogs a snack that mirrors the nutritional density their ancestors would have sought in the wild—without artificial additives.
We also introduced pasture-raised, locally sourced raw “body-part chewies” because chewing is more than entertainment—it supports dental health and satisfies natural instincts. Raw chews encourage mechanical abrasion that helps reduce plaque and tartar buildup while providing a long-lasting, engaging activity. Because our chews come from responsibly raised animals and local ranchers, we honor the principle of whole-animal utilization and sustainable sourcing.
These additions reflect our commitment to responsible nutrition and ethical agriculture. Rather than relying on mass-produced ingredients, we prioritize:
✔ Locally sourced, pasture-raised animal products
✔ Nutrient-dense organ meats for concentrated vitamins and minerals
✔ Raw chews that support dental health and natural chewing behavior
✔ Sustainable partnerships with ranchers who value humane practices
In 2021, we officially launched as a woman-owned small business rooted in sustainability and community. Every treat is hand mixed, rolled, cut, and baked in our home base of Salt Lake City, honoring traditional craftsmanship and small-batch care.
We source ingredients locally whenever possible to support fellow small businesses and strengthen our regional economy. We proudly use spent grain from UINTA Brewing and seasonal organic carrots from Orenda Urban Farm. Our meats, organ ingredients, and raw chew materials come from sustainable local ranchers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing and responsible agriculture.
Environmental stewardship remains at the heart of what we do. We avoid plastic packaging whenever possible, choosing paper containers that reduce waste and reflect our belief that small choices can make a meaningful difference. Our mission is to create treats that are good for dogs, good for our community, and good for the planet.
Our mission is three-fold:
Provide delicious, nutrient-rich treats—including organ jerkies and raw chews—that support canine health and vitality.
Operate in an eco-minded way that respects and protects our environment.
Give back—10% of every purchase supports local animal rescue organizations, helping homeless pets find loving, forever homes.
When you choose our treats, you’re choosing science-informed nutrition crafted with care and sustainability. Every biscuit, jerky, and chew is more than a snack—it’s a small act of kindness for dogs, our community, and the planet.
